Global warming is not a genuine threat today; that may not be true at week's end when all of the hot air emanating from Paris is released - unfiltered - into the atmosphere. To this observation I append a suggestion that seems, to me, eminently logical; why don't the conference participants convene via Skype? Wouldn't that be more environmentally responsible? I suppose, however, there is the pastry to consider...

So the debate, as this column argues, is no longer if global warming is a product of human activity but rather that if it is, it's no big deal. That of itself is a big deal since up to now the very idea of global warming was challenged by the WSJ and other conservative media. Now that the discussion seems to have devolved to one in where emerging economies dependent on cheap energy will refer only to low estimates of temperature rise while developed economies faced with aging carbon energy structures will pursue low carbon sources of energy production to spur new industries that have growth potential. In other words, in the end it's all about jobs. Of course, I'd be more confident about all this if the writer of this article wasn't simply a newspaper columnist whose family owns a lot of coal and has an economic state in this whole matter, unless he can rise above all this and join the flocks of pigs flying. You know in the end it is really all about jobs to feed ourselves and the world population. Obama is looking to raise energy prices by trillions of dollars to where the poor cannot feed themselves, travel or transport or shelter from the heat and cold and even more so outside of developed countries. That is a good source of unrest and war. And it hasn't been shown that a change in human consumption of carbon energy will have any significant affect on carbon dioxide levels - we contribute about 10% of what the rest of nature does.

Climate fraud. From Mikey Mann to the UN....plant food falls out of hydrology, this is basic grade 9 science. Climate is a convection not a greenhouse system - there are positive and negative feedback loops and you can't model millions of variables - any software engineer will tell you that many to many relationships beyond a certain level cannot be modeled. In short humans are relatively clueless about how climate works, case in point - lack of knowledge about oceanic systems and cycles. If the world is 3/4 water, hydrology, not the trace chemical plant food, drives climate. So will the EcoFascists will have a confab at taxpayer expense to discuss 'water change'? Back in the 1960's when I was a teenager, you couldn't swim in the Hudson River for the pollution from the paper mills upstream. And if you went to a ball game in NYC, your eyes burned when you got off the bus. In the beginning environmentalism was a good thing. Now it's just a cult. Some ideas I have. Human caused global warming is probably real. If other people disagree, fine with me. They might be right. More natural gas pipelines, if they are approved, will eventually kill the coal industry, especially if the government gets out of the way. The problem is not America. The problem is China. Global warming has an upside. I like it hot when I go swimming.

One recent survey by Rasmussen Reports shows that 27% of Democrats in the U.S. are in favor of prosecuting climate skeptics." Interesting in light of the results of a recent survey in which "climate change" was identified as the "greatest concern" of only 3% of the population. Taken together, one might reasonably conclude that a significant percentage of Democrats are concerned much more about other current issues than they are about "climate change". However, they believe anyone else publicly skeptical of the validity of climate change should be prosecuted for expressing that opinion. Anyone who thinks the rank and file of the Democrat party isn't heavily occupied by fellow citizens who believe that, regardless of what they think. everyone else should be fully invested in climate change, Constitutionally guaranteed rights be damned, should wake up. There is simply no question that the greatest threat to freedom in this country is today's Democrat party, and not just its leaders.
