The claim of "settled science" because 97% of scientists concur is nonsensical. The scientific method I was taught did not have a voting step. You tested your hypothesis and then let the facts lead you to the conclusion. In no case was a vote taken to determine what the conclusion is or should be. I'm a climate scientist and the whole "97%" thing is just a social science fabrication. Of my peers that I personally know, about half think global warming is a serious threat. The other half think the basic science is mostly solid but the warming and implications greatly exaggerated. NONE OF THEM THINK THE EARTH HAS NOT WARMED OR THAT IT IS ALL NATURAL.  If you ask the question "Do you think the earth has warmed and humans have contributed to this warming" then you might get 97% of scientists to agree.

But if you ask the question "Do you think catastrophic climate change is likely?" then the number drops to maybe 50%. Most of the "catastrophic" thinkers work for government or universities or environmental groups. The other 50% mostly work elsewhere where they are not reliant on climate change funding. NASA and NOAA recently declared 2014 "hottest" but quietly withdrew that claim later. That reversal probably had to do with skeptics pointing out that the difference in annual global temperatures amongst all recent years is MINISCULE - a few hundredths of one degree, so well within uncertainty; the contrived comparison is meaningless. Also, if that SAME analysis had been applied to the two satellite weather stations, the result would have been 2014 3rd or 6th hottest, implying short term cooling trends of either 3 or 6 years.  Now these two agencies, desperate because of the upcoming Paris summit, have introduced bogus sea surface temperature (SST) data (contaminated by ship intake systems into their terrestrial data sets, the point being to eliminate the fact that satellite data shows no ADDITIONAL warming for the past 18+ years.

It's obvious these two agencies are now lip-synching the administration position on climate. Sad. It's nice to see someone other than a blowhard politician talking about climate change and citing the facts rather than emotional rhetoric kept alive by a desperate media trying to entice viewers who wouldn't know fact from fiction if it bit them where the sun don't shine.  Global growth is already being compromised by changing demographics. Rounding up carbon will only make matters worse, which is estimated to cost some 1 trillion dollars a year based on the verbal commitments of China, the U.S. and Europe combined. Good luck with that.

President Obama, during his recent trip to Alaska, referred to two receding glaciers as examples of “climate change”.His (and the IPCC cohort) use of the term “climate change” means global warming, principally due to human activity, caused by increasing co2 level, mostly related to fossil fuel usage. However, one of the two glaciers, “Exit”, has been receding since about 1750, a century before co2 level began increasing and two centuries before co2 could have had any noticeable impact on temperature. Neither Obama nor the major news media mentioned that several other Alaskan glaciers, including “Hubbard” and “Taku”, are advancing. It is true that some alarmists now (seriously!) claim that co2 increase can result in simultaneous warming and cooling!Who/where is Obama’s science adviser?
